The Convening, this past October, was a powerful 3-day event guided by the theme: Reclaiming Education through Liberation. We welcomed close to 150 BIPOC educators, BIPOC leaders and white leaders to engage in community to dismantle and uproot models of oppression in education. A powerful keynote address by Dr. Bettina Love had participants rejuvenated and energized, along with the tools of Liberation Pedagogy to recognize, undo and replace oppressive systems that harm BIPOC students and educators.
Whether you are a leader exploring equitable approaches to budget and retention, a BIPOC educator working toward advancing racial equity, or an early career BIPOC educator navigating how to disrupt oppressive systems, this is a space for you to engage, reflect and evaluate in community.
Beyond Reclamation is a one-day gathering to continue the work that ignited us. Come to engage and continue your journey to liberate education!
We look forward to seeing you and your co-conspirators there!
Full agenda and a list of guest storytellers coming soon.
