    Join fellow educators and leaders in education in sharing, building, and re-energizing each other in our collective journey toward liberation.

    The Network for EdWorks' Convening 2024 is a BIPOC led gathering focused on lifting and sustaining our BIPOC educators and leaders who face unique challenges and obstacles throughout the education landscape. This two-day gathering is dedicated to providing the tools and community for you to thrive, connect, develop partnerships, and advocate for change.

    Author of Viral Justice: How We Grow The World We Want

    Ruha Benjamin
    is the Alexander Stewart 1886 Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University, founding director of the Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab, and author of the award-winning book Race After Technology: Abolitionist Tools for the New Jim Code, among many other publications. Her work investigates the social dimensions of science, medicine, and technology with a focus on the relationship between innovation and inequity, health and justice, knowledge and power. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Marguerite Casey Foundation Freedom Scholar Award and the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching at Princeton. Her most recent book, Viral Justice: How We Grow the World We Want, winner of the 2023 Stowe Prize, was born out of the twin plagues of COVID-19 and police violence and offers a practical and principled approach to transforming our communities and helping us build a more just and joyful world.

Dive deep into discussions on culturally responsive teaching, decolonizing curriculum, and fostering classrooms that honor the diverse identities and lived realities of students.
    3. Cultivate Allyship and Collaboration: We grow stronger together. Recognizing the importance of collective action, we actively contribute to creating educational environments that center BIPOC leaders and educators and promote equity for all students.
    4. Nurture Professional Growth and Resilience: We prioritize and harness our joy. Recharge your passion for education through inspiring keynotes, workshops, and interactive sessions led by esteemed BIPOC educators, leaders, and scholars. Acquire valuable tools, strategies, and resources to support your professional growth, well-being, and resilience.
    5. Build a Strong Network of Support: We build community. We can do more together. Let’s build a supportive and committed network to drive change, lift each other up, engage in dialogue, share best practices, and partner to advance racial equity and social justice in education.

    The Convening 2024 is a shared space to be heard, uplifted, and empowered as we work together towards a liberated, more equitable and inclusive education system.     • Regular Registration: $350 (Deadline: February 9th, 2024)
    • NWEW Members/Partner: $250
    • Group Registration of 5 or More: $250/person
    Note: Each registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon social hour for both Friday and Saturday.

    • Friday Only: $175
